About Us :

Phil Wood, co-founder of the San Francisco Book Company, hired both Richard (Tex) Toney and Phyllis Cohen within the first few months of 1999. After some happy years of book peddling together there, Phyllis went off to The Hague, Phil retired and sold the shop, and Tex decided to stay home. The opening of Berkeley Books reunites these three friends in a new store where they are again surrounded by shelves full of fine books.

As of the 27th of August, Phyllis is off to The Hague where she will spend a goodly amount of time staring at the sea and wondering if Tex has remembered to water the plants in the shop.
