This here is a video recording of the genius that was Anita O'Day, performing at
the Newport Jazz Festival in 1958. 'Swing' doesn't even cover what she does
with her voice.

Overheard in New York. What I miss about NYC is overhearing spoken treasures like these...

On the subject of treasures, you can listen to the wondrous voice of Lori Cotler here. The kid's going to be big...really big...but I always knew that. She taught me to play Chopin's Nocturnes one-handed on her piano when I was young and scruffy in New York. Now she's becoming a master of South Indian, super-fast rhythm singing. Go cat go.

Bookworm. An excellent radio program on NPR. I found an interview with W.G. Sebald recorded in December, 2001 in the archives.

I've had a passion for old time radio programs since I was a kid. This here is a great archive of recordings from the 1930's and 40's. Check out Orson Welles' masterpieces under "Mercury Theater."
